What is your favorite memory or experience at SSU?
Being in the musical on campus In The Heights! We did such a beautiful thing by bringing so many people together to see this show and I am beyond grateful to have been a part of it.
What has been the most challenging part of your college experience and what did you learn from it?
Being away from family is seriously tough. I am very close with them so it’s been a challenge. Being mostly independent has also been an adjustment!
What brought you to SSU, and what motivates you to stay?
The beautiful campus, small classes and overall campus, the people, and the academics brought me to SSU.
Who at SSU has influenced you and/or made an impact on your journey here?
Nigeria, my mentor for Umoja Queens has been a huge support system while I’ve been here as well as someone who inspires and pushes me to do better. Lauren from Culinary Services has also been a big supporter of all my endeavors here at Sonoma State and has also been a listening ear and a support for me. My sister Iyanna is also a student here and if I didn’t have her as a shoulder to lean on, I just don’t know that I would’ve made it far here at SSU.
