How did you end up going into your current role or field and what do you enjoy most about the work you do?

I began working for the School of Social Sciences in 2011. I was promoted to Analyst in 2015 and continue to work in what is now the College of Humanities, Social Sciences and the Arts.

What do you enjoy most about being part of the Sonoma State community?

The people and opportunities make Sonoma State a great place. I have noticed the dedication that faculty, staff and students share with the campus community year after year.

What do you find most fulfilling about working in higher education?

Staff, faculty and students constantly remind me how my work impacts their ability to accomplish their goals at Sonoma State. I always have something to work on or improve. Although administrative changes have presented challenges to overcome, I have seen how resilient the Sonoma State community has been during several changes.

In what ways does your work make an impact on students, the campus or the broader campus community?

I believe that commitment is contagious. People at Sonoma State work together to support community members at Sonoma State and beyond. Education teaches people how to live by making informed decisions. Education helps people identify what is valuable to them and provides them tools to support their surrounding communities. Education changes the way people approach every problem that they face during their lives.
