What is your favorite memory or experience at SSU?
I think my favorite memory would have to be meeting all the wonderful people here on campus and meeting all my friends who have made the college experience even better. I really enjoy how when you're on campus walking by different tables people want to talk to you and get to know you. I also really love all the big events like Big Nite, in which students are able to meet new people and hang out on their campus.
What has been the most challenging part of your college experience and what did you learn from it?
I would say it's definitely hard to adjust to being away from home for everyone. I even struggle with it even though I am only 45 minutes away. It's just the fact that when you are sick, you can't just tell your parents to email your school and say you're not going to be there. But I think living on campus has definitely helped. I was able to live with a few of my roommates from last year, so it feels like we're this little family.
What brought you to SSU, and what motivates you to stay?
The idea of such a strong community brought me to SSU. I was used to a pretty small school and wasn't looking for a giant campus to have to worry about finding classes. I really love it here. I would say the class sizes and housing are the reason I am still here because I really enjoy getting the chance to talk in classes and have great housing so that we can all live on campus.
Who at SSU has influenced you and/or made an impact on your journey here?
Bianca Delgado has made me feel comfortable in any situation, whether it is talking to her about how I feel about different things or just about school or life. My roommates make me feel at home even though we aren't at home. The team at EOP has made it so that I can be successful and have resources that I didn't know I qualified for.
