What are your campus involvements?

Sonoma State Volleyball Team, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (President), Black Student Union (BSU)

What is your favorite memory or experience at SSU?

Home games! I loved it when other Sonoma State teams would come to support us and I could hear them in the crowd going crazy. As a team, we hold a great home record and it's from all the support we get from the people who attend. One big game, in particular, was East Bay. I always wanted to beat them, and that was the biggest turnout we ever had. It was Pink Out and Family Weekend, and the atmosphere was unforgettable.

What has been the most challenging part of your college experience and what did you learn from it?

Taking all my classes online during quarantine — I learned that online classes were not for me and that I truly value personal connections with the people in my class and my professors.

What brought you to SSU, and what motivates you to stay?

I was recruited to play volleyball. Being actively involved in the athletics department with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and meeting all the wonderful athletes and coaches in our program keeps bringing me back. There are wonderful people all over campus, which only makes my experience here at Sonoma State better!

Who at SSU has influenced you and/or made a difference in your journey here?

There are so many people on every new roster: my coach Bear Grassl, my assistant coaches, staff like Dr. Gerald Jones, Mo Phillips, and Tiffany O'Neill, and every single student-athlete I call my friend.
