Timothy Wilbur
SSU has given me a home away from home. I am forever grateful for that!
My name is Timothy Wilbur but I go by Tim, and I use he/him/his pronouns. I am a third-year geography, environment and planning major with a concentration in geospatial science and technology. For the past two years, I have been involved on campus by being a Resident Advisor in first year living areas, ACE and Outdoor Adventure, and also being a Senior Resident Advisor this year. I also for the past two springs have done the Naturalist and Land Management trainings at The Fairfield Osborne Preserve! I also spent one summer as a Summer Orientation Leader!
Recently, I had the honor of being a leader at the Emerging Leaders Retreat and help facilitate activities at this overnight retreat that helped develop future leaders here at SSU. At SSU, I have been challenged through the RA position and the emotionally charged situations that could arise at any moment. These intense situations that occur have helped me develop as a leader and also develop as a person.
At SSU, my positive experiences have come from being outside in the Sonoma wildlife. Whether it be at Sonoma’s own Nature Preserve or I’m when taking my residents on a local hike, I am surrounded by beautiful wildlife I would have never seen if it wasn’t for SSU.
