Why did you choose SSU?

When I first stepped foot on this campus my junior year of high school, I immediately had a gut feeling that this would be where I would go to school. The campus was smaller in size giving it an intimate feeling, but it was a large enough community to where you still see new faces daily. It was a gorgeous place to learn and grow and become who I am today. I am forever grateful to the faculty and staff for the impact they had on my life as a student that led me to continue to work and begin my career at SSU.

What is one piece of advice you'd give your college self today?

Don't be afraid to try new things, step outside of your comfort zone, and work hard. You'll be surprised where it will take you.

What does life look like now after graduating from SSU?

After graduating from SSU, I began working in Administration and Finance, and shortly thereafter, at the Green Music Center. I was part of the opening team, and it has been incredibly rewarding to see how far we have come as a University Presenter in the last ten years. In 2020, I joined the SSU Alumni Association Board and currently serve as the secretary and chair of the alumni recognition committee. I am also co-chair of the Commencement Logistics Committee. It has been special to be a part of something that impacts students in a variety of ways throughout their time at SSU, from experiencing a performance at the Green, to having an artist visit their classroom, to crossing the stage at Commencement.

What are your campus involvements?
