Facilities Management
How did you end up going into your current role or field and what do you enjoy most about the work you do?
I have been part of Facilities Management for nearly 21 years, steadily advancing through various positions to my current role as Operations Manager. Over the years, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the complexity and diversity of the SSU community. I enjoy being part of an operation that keeps our “mini city” running smoothly and thriving every day. I take great pride in contributing to SSU’s success and in helping make our campus become one of the most welcoming and prosperous universities in California for everyone who visits, works, and lives here.
What do you enjoy most about being part of the Sonoma State community?
I truly enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds our campus and the sense of peace it brings. What stands out most to me is the genuine diversity and inclusiveness of the Sonoma State community. You see it everywhere you go on campus. SSU offers a rich variety of venues, programs, performances, and educational opportunities, all set within a county that I consider a true paradise.
What do you find most fulfilling about working in higher education?
The most fulfilling aspect of working in higher education is assisting younger generations in becoming the best people they can be to contribute to the state, country, and world. That makes me proud.
In what ways does your work make an impact on students, the campus or the broader campus community?
As an employee of SSU, it’s rewarding to know that the work we do here helps prepare students to make meaningful contributions. I take great pride in knowing I’ve done my part in shaping that future.
