What is your favorite memory or experience at SSU?

My favorite memories at SSU are the themed dinners at The Kitchens. I always go with my friends every time there's a new one. We have so much fun taking pictures of the decorations and trying the food together.

What has been the most challenging part of your college experience and what did you learn from it?

The most challenging part of my college experience is managing a heavy class workload. Being a transfer student, I've been balancing a lot of units to graduate within 2 years. It's been stressful, but living on campus has made me develop better time management skills. I like spending my time at the library to have a good study environment, and living on campus makes me feel more focused.

What brought you to SSU, and what motivates you to stay?

At my local community college, there was a transfer fair showing the local universities around the area. I talked to an SSU representative, and they told me about the Communication Studies program. I was really interested in hearing about the different media outlets I could participate in, and I was immediately drawn in. My professors at SSU motivate me to stay because all of my professors have taken deep consideration into my education and are passionate about what they teach. I genuinely enjoy participating in my classes and feel grateful that I'm able to learn from them. It inspires me to continue working towards my degree and career.

Who at SSU has influenced you and/or made an impact on your journey here?

My friends that I've made at SSU have had a huge impact on my journey here. I didn't know anyone when I first transferred, but I'm glad I've found people I've truly connected with.
