What are your campus involvements?

Tour Guide (Student Assistant) at SSU Welcome Center, member of Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), member of Alpha Lambda Delta.

What is your favorite memory or experience at SSU?

My favorite and most memorable experience is the Summer Bridge program and freshman orientation week. This period of time was when I moved into the dorms, built valuable connections with complete strangers, and ultimately started down the path of finding the person that I am today. There are many other experiences that I could mention, but this one was the first that I feel adds to it being the most memorable.

What has been the most challenging part of your college experience and what did you learn from it?

The most challenging part of my college journey has been trying to balance school, work, and life outside of those. It took me a while to maintain that balance. Through this experience, I realized how vital organization is in your space and with your time. I also came to understand the importance of taking time for yourself instead of solely pouring yourself into work and school.

What brought you to SSU, and what motivates you to stay?

There was a lot that was attractive about SSU to me when I was applying. There was the absolutely beautiful campus that had the Goldilocks size that I wanted. There were amazingly dedicated staff and faculty that welcomed me and gave me everlasting support. Lastly, there were amazing facilities on campus, especially the unique housing that we are offered. All of this is still true and is what ties me to this school.

Who at SSU has influenced you and/or made an impact on your journey here?

My professors have had the greatest impact on me. Two of my professors are most prominent in this impact: Professor Estes and Professor Gomes. Professor Estes offered amazing support in providing guidance for my possible future endeavors. Professor Gomes helped me follow my dreams of travelling and further fueled my passion for it. Ultimately, the immense support I have received from many people on campus has been invaluable, and I would not be where I am today as a student or a person without it.
