What are your campus involvements?
I am currently in Alpha Gamma Delta, also serving on the executive board, I am the Vice President of the Sports Business Club, I was a Seawolf Living Brand Ambassador in the Spring of 2025, and I’m also a student assistant in the Registrar and Admissions office.
What is your favorite memory or experience at SSU?
My favorite memory at SSU was my first Big Nite freshman year. I had no idea what it was, but all my roommates and new friends had wanted to go, so we all went. It was so fun seeing how this campus thrives when everyone is together. I made a lot of new friends that night, some that I am very much still close with, and it solidified every reason why I had chosen SSU, the community and the similar love everyone has for this school was unmatched.
What has been the most challenging part of your college experience and what did you learn from it?
My most challenging part of college has been keeping a work, life, and school balance. I have been working since my first year at SSU, and at first, I didn’t know how to handle it, especially after joining a sorority in Spring 2024. I slowly learned that there is a balance between all these 3 aspects. It is okay to constantly be busy because it made me feel like I had a purpose. I am still all over the place today, and I enjoy it. I love representing SSU.
What brought you to SSU, and what motivates you to stay?
I had ran cross country and track in high school and had gotten an offer to come run here at SSU. I was super excited until the summer before I came I got injured. I tried to recover but ultimately ended up quitting the team. I did not want to leave my beautiful school. I had made amazing relationships with my friends, roommates, and even some professors. I felt like I had no purpose anymore though. That is when I started getting involved in everything I could. The clubs, my sorority, and professors are what motivated me to stay. I also feel that the Bay Area is my home and that this is where I belong.
Who at SSU has influenced you and/or made an impact on your journey here?
My boss in the admissions office, Adrianne, has made an impact on my journey here. I got this job in October 2024 and was super nervous at first. The moment I met her though, I knew this job would be amazing. She believed in me the first day I started. She is one of the most supportive bosses I have ever had and I have been working since the day I turned 16. She has been there for me when I was having bad days or when I had challenging tests. She is a boss who actually cares and wants the best for everyone. If it were not for her I do not think I would still be at SSU.
