What is your current position and/or the industry you work in?
Public Works Administrative Manager for the City of Novato
What were your campus involvements at SSU?
Associated Students, Lambda Sigma Gamma, APIO, Black Men In Motion, Tutoring, Student Assistant, and Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán (MEChA).
Why did you choose to attend SSU?
I was touring campuses, and none felt like home. A friend's mom recommended I tour SSU. She thought I might like it. She had brought my friend, and they didn't see her at SSU, but thought it would be a good fit for me. I scheduled a tour, and my tour guide, Rommel, made me feel like it would be a good fit! The rest is history.
How has Sonoma State made an impact on your life today?
It helped shape the person that I am today. There is not enough space to write how much impact SSU has had on me. I not only attended undergraduate and graduate school there, but I also worked on campus for 16-plus years. It gave me my foundation.
What advice would you give to a current student or recent graduate?
Enjoy every moment as a student. Get involved, make connections, and just have fun. For recent graduates, continue making connections and moving forward. It will all work out.
