What is your favorite memory or experience at SSU?

My favorite memory is meeting all the people I've met. I was a very shy kid growing up. Since coming to SSU I have been able to break out of my shell and put myself out there and have never looked back. Being able to be involved in so many organizations as well as explore a new state has been a great experience.

What has been the most challenging part of your college experience and what did you learn from it?

The most challenging part of college has been being far away from home and balancing all my extracurricular activities. It hasn't been easy balancing Greek Life and baseball as well as being IFC President and Phi Delta Theta President, but what I've learned from this is to take care of myself first and make sure my academics are my top priority. I make sure all my assignments are done by Thursday night so I have the weekend for everything else I'm involved in. I've also learned how to create a family-like bond with people here since I'm far from home and SSU now truly feels like my home away from home.

What brought you to SSU, and what motivates you to stay?

I was recruited for baseball, but when I decided to step away from the competitive collegiate level, I knew I wanted to stay in California. I love the Rohnert Park area, so I decided to still play baseball for fun on the club team. I also decided to rush Greek Life for more leadership experience, joined the Sports Business Club, and joined Intervarsity to grow my faith. Now that I'm a part of all these organizations and have built so many meaningful friendships, I can't see myself anywhere other than SSU, which has been my motivation to stay.

Who at SSU has influenced you and/or made an impact on your journey here?

I've been fortunate enough to have been influenced by the whole SSU community—from my professors to campus staff, to my fraternity brothers, my teammates, and everyone in between. I have learned so much from many groups of people. My fraternity brothers have had a huge impact on my journey here and have taught me about professionalism, giving back to the community, how to be a good brother, and how to be the best version of myself. My teammates have also had a positive impact on my SSU journey and have made me a better teammate and person both on and off the baseball field.
