How did you end up going into your current role or field and what do you enjoy most about the work you do?

I started working at SSU in the Communication Studies Department and moved to the Music Department about 10 years ago. The thing I love most about my position is the students and seeing them succeed at their craft.

What do you enjoy most about being part of the Sonoma State community?

I love that SSU is a small school, but there are always new people to meet on campus. There is a lot going on here, and there are always ways to be involved in our community.

What do you find most fulfilling about working in higher education?

Higher education is so important, and I love being a part of that even in a small way. The students are the reason we are all here. Supporting them and seeing them succeed is the best.

In what ways does your work make an impact on students, the campus or the broader campus community?

Any support we can give the students to keep them in their classes, guide them along their way, and cheer on their accomplishments makes a difference. Our students are so talented! I'm so impressed with the things they are able to do, and giving them the space to immerse themselves in their field of study is priceless.
